If you think my "Vote For Manny" is actually about wanting to embrace the pro-steroids stance, please read on.
If you think my "Vote For Manny" is actually about preventing the most worthy of players, like Raul Ibanez, from getting selected to the All Star Game, please read on.
If you understood that the "Vote For Manny" is one part satire, one part sarcasm, one part fun, one part grandiose hopes the the rules of the game will somehow change to make sense.... feel free to read on even though you already get it.
I love it!! Can we get a "voteforjcromero.com" site up, too. Hell, let's get McGwire, Bonds, and the rest of the roid boys in too. Let's make it a roid-star game. Between innings everybody drop trow and McNamee can come buy and shoot everybody up instead of the pitcher taking his 8 warmup pitches. Just make sure he puts the needles in an old rusty beer can when he's done.
ReplyDeleteAnon - See the chart pictured above.
ReplyDeleteYour point doesn't make much sense. You said a person that uses steroids can make the HOF, sign a $200M contract, and make the All-Star team. However, by creating this site you're not proving that a steroid user can make the All-Star team, you're proving that a steroid user can make the All-Star team with the help of a "pro-vote" website. A lot of different types of players could make the All-Star team if they had these types of sites helping them.
ReplyDeleteThis "experiment" site is an epic failure. Your 15 minutes of fame is a sham.
he votado unas cuantas veces ya... pero me inspirado a seguir votando por manny.
ReplyDeleteManny is a tool, as is AROD and R Palmero. They should be banned form baseball.
ReplyDeleteCraig
Jason - I love the site and find it comical. People getting mad is a sham as well. I think that everyone that complains ignored the steroid era. I think you should have a syringe meter showing the # of votes in CC's
ReplyDeleteManny is a tool.
ReplyDeletemanuel aristedes ramirez es simplemente el mejor bateador del universo y votaria por el un milon veces. MANY ES MANY y punto.
ReplyDeleteManny es el amo y seƱor del bateo, el cordon unbilical de su madre era un bate nacio para batear como no votar por el
ReplyDeleteYour attempt to make a point was extremely weak, calling it "too funny", if Manny was to make the all star team. What about the clean player that would receive the fourth highest votes, and who would not get too start. Try and find something worth while to spend your time on, maybe volunteer at your local food bank.
ReplyDeleteonly Boston fans hate Manny and that`s because he didn`t want to play for them anymore. We all know that Boston is a RACIST town.
ReplyDeleteI think you should show how close he is to the third guy. I agree with why you are doing this, and I have already voted 25 times for Manny!
ReplyDeleteA los blanquitos que se callen la boca y aprendan a jugar como nosotros los Dominicanos voy a votar 100 veces por manny
ReplyDeleteSolid campaign - I like it. One thing though, as good as your new rule is about playings being caught using PEDs not being eligible for the All Star game for a year, it probably wouldn't work. I imagine that would probably go against the Collective Bargaining Agreement between teams and the Players Union. I don't know that for a fact, but I say it because just about everything is covered by the CBA, especially things like suspensions. And if it doesn't say you can exclude someone from the All Star game while they're not suspended from play, it probably can't be done without changing the CBA. And that just won't happen. Again, this is just guesswork. I could be wrong.
ReplyDeleteTim: I agree, it's got to be collectively bargained. But Bud has to take a strong stance and it can happen.
ReplyDelete@ Anon with the comment about "how close he is": good idea. Updated.
It is so outrageous that crappy baseball/Dodger fans are supporting this guy. These are the same fans that absolutley killed Bonds everytime he got he stepped up to bat, and Bonds never even tested positive. Sickening!!

ReplyDeleteIf you really want to expose a hole in the "fans-vote-for-the-ASG-starters-and-the-ASG-counts" fiasco, you should advocate that fans of NL teams vote for the worst possible AL representatives, and vice versa.
For example, I am a Dodger fan. I think they have a shot to go to the World Series this year. I want them to have every advantage I, as a fan, can give them, e.g. home field advantage. So why would I put players like Jason Bay or Evan Longoria on my AL ballot? I'd much rather see the AL All Star team consist of the starting lineup of the Baltimore Orioles.
You should put together a list of the AL worst and NL worst, and convince people to vote for the opposing league to lose.
Spoeaking strictly from a Boston fans perspective, I think Manny and his agent should be banned from baseball for life. These two manipulated the Boston front office using lies and deception to get traded for pure greed. It was calculated, pre-meditated, and pure evil to leave a city that put up with his crap for 7.5 years and still loved him. Hell, there are people that still love him, the Boston era was enought for me with the fake injuries, selected hustling and clubhouse run-ins with 60 year old men AND NOW ROIDS....ENOUGH!!! GOOD LUCK DODGERS I FEEL SORRY FOR YOU, and I dont care what numbers he puts up the rest of the year. He is a disgrace for baseball, not the only one, but still a disgrace, along with his scum agent!
